Do you have users that keep being locked out even though you’ve cleared the password manager and any internet explorer passwords, and you’ve made sure the passwords in their mobile device are correct, but it still keeps happening, shortly after they have logged in as you have unlocked them. Its infuriating!
Well, here is something else to check.
Event ID | 14 |
Source | Kerberos |
Type | Warning |
Description | There were password errors using the Credential Manager. To remedy launch the Stored User Names and Passwords control panel applet and reenter the password for the credential <username>. |
If you are getting an event log entry that looks like this it could be that there are hidden passwords in the user management password store.
Try logging onto the machine using an account in the local administrators group and checking the user management password store. You may find that there are several entries that were not visible before!
Delete these entries and reboot and you should find that the problem has been resolved.
